DANNY Green cannot wait to get started as player coach at Concord Rangers, writes Euan Rourke.
The 31-year-old midfielder has been with the Beach Boys since 2018.
And he is excited to be taking on the extra responsibility.
“I’m looking forward to working with the players,” said Green.
“We have some really good young talent and it’s where I want my career to go.
“I want to get into coaching and work with players day in day out so this feels fantastic. I’ve loved my time at the club so far and I’m looking forward to learning from the manager and the rest of the coaching and management team.”
Concord will again be lining up in National South next season.
And Green is pleased to be working closely alongside Beach Boys boss Danny Scopes.
“I have a lot of respect for Scopsey,” said Green.
“He was brilliant with me last season and I feel he has a lot of qualities that I can learn from. Hopefully I can help the manager and the management team this season on and off the pitch!
“Fingers crossed we’ll be able to finish off the FA Trophy run and get to Wembley.
“But I’m also looking forward to working on the training pitch with the players.”
Concord have also been boosted by Aron Pollock signing a new deal. And the Basildon born centre-back is pleased to be staying at the Aspect Arena.
“It feels good to be at Concord for another year,” said Pollock.
“We had some great moments last season and hopefully we can push on and do even better.”
