SOUTHEND United striker Brandon Goodship is not far away from making a return to action.
Goodship has missed the last four matches for the Shrimpers.
But scans have now shown the 26-year-old has not fractured a rib and Blues boss Mark Molesley feels Goodship will soon be back in action.
"Brandon has heavily bruised ribs and fortunately there’s no fracture," said Molesley.
"Bruised ribs can be quite troublesome but full credit to him because he’s always said he will play.
"He’s been in a lot of discomfort in training though and we just couldn’t risk him.
"If we’ve left it this long to then go a couple of days early it would put us back to square one.
"Hopefully we’re not too far away from having him back now.
"It’s definitely weeks rather than months."
