JOEL Lynch is training with Southend United, Echosport understands.
The 33-year-old defender, who has made 429 appearances during his career, is currently without a club.
But Blues boss Mark Molesley was not keen to give too much away.
“I can’t comment on that,” said Molesley.
“Until someone is signed and in the building it’s tough for me to make any big comments.
“When the ink is dry, you’ve shaken hands and the paperwork is submitted I will then clarify.
“But this game has taught me so many times not to count your chickens before their hatched.”
Lynch has played for Brighton & Hove Albion, Nottingham Forest, Huddersfield Town, QPR and Sunderland during his career but he has not played a League game since March 2020.
