BILLERICAY Town ended their run of three straight defeats with a professional 2-0 win over Dulwich Hamlet in the National League South on Saturday, reports Leon Imber.
The game was Kevin Watson’s second in charge of the club and was exactly the reaction he would have been hoping for after his team were beaten 3-0 at Dartford in the week.
Michael Chambers was first on the scoresheet with a powerful header against his former club, and Town’s top scorer this season Jake Robinson secured the three points with a 94th minute strike.
The striker has scored 11 goals in the league so far this season.
The victory was Watson’s side’s first of the year, and a particularly encouraging one for the new Billericay boss who described his team’s first half performance as ‘a joy to watch.’
Town sit 16th in the standings after this weekend’s fixtures.
