SOUTHEND United manager Mark Molesley has confirmed the Shrimpers will look to appeal the red card Sam Hart received against Walsall.
The left-back was sent off for a challenge on Derick Osei Yew.
But, having watched the incident back, Molesley will be aiming to get the decision overturned.
“I’ve just had a nice chat with the referee to have a look at Harty’s one because I don’t think it was a sending off at all,” said Molesley.
“At the time it was a speedy coming together of players and Walsall didn’t help the situation.
“Harty has gone in and won the ball but then had his back leg taken away.
“It looks quite bad and I can see why the referee has given the red card.
“But looking at it in slow motion it’s two players going for the ball and a nasty coming together.
“We will try and appeal that one.”
