SOUTHEND United defender Sam Hart has been handed a three match suspension for the red card he received against Walsall on Tuesday night.
Hart was dismissed for a strong challenge on Derick Osei Yew during the 0-0 draw.
And, unless Blues’ appeal is successful, Hart will now miss matches against Harrogate Town, Carlisle United and Morecambe.
Shrimpers boss Mark Molesley felt Hart did not deserve to be sent off.
However, Walsall’s head coach Brian Dutton disagreed.
“It was reckless and out of control so you could see why the referee gave it,” said Dutton.
Banned - Sam Hart's suspension is now listed on the FA website
