ANOTHER frustrated Southend United fan has his say.
Watching Southend United’s slow-motion and still ongoing car crash down the divisions is painful to behold.
Now is the time for stoicism.
As Phil Brown presciently and astutely identified at the start of the season, opposing sides in the National League were always going to be especially pumped-up when playing us; victory representing a massive “scalp” against a club that a mere five years ago was just one point off a place in the Championship play-offs, highlighting our team’s heartbreakingly precipitous fall from grace.
Now is the time for consolidation.
Scrapping and scraping into mid-league safety, anything but the drop, ready to sow the seeds for rebuilding next term.
There’s no point in sacking the manager, Phil Brown, and, in any case, for who exactly?
He’s the best we have, he knows the drill and will fight tooth and nail.
Let’s keep the faith.
