Set to leave - Southend United defender Charlie Sayers is close to joining Tottenham Hotspur
TOTTENHAM Hotspur are set to sign Southend United youngster Charlie Sayers, Echosport understands.
The 17-year-old left-back has been on trial with Spurs for the past fortnight and the Premier League side are now in talks to take him to the club on a permanent basis.
Sayers, who is from Wickford, has made six appearances for the Shrimpers this season.
