SOUTHEND United have been placed under an transfer embargo, Echosport understands.
The transfer ban has been placed on Blues due to money owed to HMRC and means boss Kevin Maher is unable to add to his squad.
The Shrimpers are currently 19th in the National League table and sit above the relegation zone on goal difference following tonight’s 1-1 draw with Maidenhead United at Roots Hall.
