FORMER Southend United defender Rob Howard has joined National League South side Welling United.
Howard, who made seven first team appearances for the Shrimpers, ended last season on loan at Farnborough Town before being released by boss Kevin Maher.
But the 22-year-old has now opted to sign for Welling who fought hard to stay up last season.
Howard came through the youth ranks at Roots Hall before joining Arsenal at the age of 14.
A spell at Colchester United also followed before the right back came back to Blues in 2018.
