SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher will again be running the rule over two trialist strikers when the Shrimpers head to Kettering Town on Saturday.
Chris Wrey and Ibby Akanbi both scored for Blues in Tuesday night’s 7-0 win at Canvey Island.
And Maher has confirmed the duo will be in the squad again this weekend.
“We will look to involve them again,” said the Shrimpers chief.
“We’ll give them more minutes and see how they do. “
Wreh, who is the son of former Arsenal striker Christopher, was with Banbury last season having previously played for Stratford Town, Barton Rovers, AFC Rushden & Diamonds, Aylesbury, Newport Pagnell Town and MK Gallacticos.
Akanbi, who replaced Wreh at half-time against Canvey, counts Whitehawk, Maidstone, Aldershot and Dagenham & Redbridge among his former clubs.
But Norwich City goalkeeper Jon McCracken is still not quite ready to line up between the sticks for Blues.
“He won’t be involved just yet,” confirmed Maher.
“We’re waiting to hear how he gets on back at Norwich with a slight knock he has and will look towards next week with him.
