SOUTHEND United have signed AFC Wimbledon striker Aaron Cosgrave on a season long loan.
The 23-year-old started last season on loan at Dover Athletic before making eight appearances on his return to the Dons.
And he jumped at the chance to sign for the Shrimpers.
"I’m really excited," said Cosgrave.
"I’ve really been wanting game time and I think this is the perfect place to show everyone what I’m about.
"I have good experience at this level from my time with Dover too.
"It was a difficult challenge but I thought I did well in a struggling team and I’m hoping to bring that form here.
"The manager was impressed with me, which is why I got the recall back to Wimbledon in January.
"I played for them in League One so I’m hoping I can regain my form from last season and hit the ground running here."
Cosgrave has also spent time with Havant & Waterlooville, Chelmsford City and Welling and goes straight into Blues’ squad for Saturday’s clash with Oldham Athletic at Roots Hall.
