SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher felt his side should have beaten Oldham Athletic by more than just one goal at Roots Hall.
A first half strike from Dan Mooney saw the Shrimpers pick up all three points against the Latics.
But Maher thought Blues should scored more.
“It could have been more and it should have been more really,” said Maher.
“But we’ve won the game and that’s all that matters.
“We’ve got another clean sheet which is another positive and it backs up the two away draws we’ve had.
“They become better points after the result we’ve had today and do think more goals will come given the number of chances we’ve created.”
Mooney’s goal was his first for the Shrimpers since signing in the summer.
And Maher felt it was a strike worthy of winning the game.
“It was a brilliant goal to win it and I was delighted to see it hit the back of the net,” said Maher.
“When we brought Moons to the club we knew what he was capable of but it’s about getting him in the right kind of areas.
“That happened today and we got our just rewards in the end.”
