CONCORD Rangers suffered a fourth successive defeat in National League South, losing 3-1 to Braintree Town at the Aspect Arena.
Lewis Johnson was on target for the Beach Boys who now sit 18th in the standings.
In the first qualifying round of the FA Cup, there was joy for East Thurrock United, Billericay Town and Canvey Island.
East Thurrock beat Biggleswade 2-1 thanks to goals from debutant Brian Moses and substitute Jack Dreyer while Billericay Town saw off Leverstock Green 4-1 with Alfie Cerulli and Chris Dickson both bagging braces.
Canvey Island saw off Enfield Town 5-1 with Evans Kouassi scoring a hat-trick.
However, there was FA Cup disappointment for Hashtag United who were beaten 3-2 at Romford while Bowers & Pitsea lost 1-0 at Wingate & Finchley.
In Isthmian North, Great Wakering Rovers beat Hullbridge Sports 3-0 at Burroughs Park.
Alex Hernandez scored twice for Rovers while Danny Cossington was also on target.
The win moved Wakering up to 13th in the standings with Hullbridge bottom.
