Southend Pier: Sport from both the pierhead and stem has been very scratchy this week due to the small tides and strong winds.

The only reports from anglers who have ventured out are of the occasional whiting, small codling and schoolies.

Southend beaches: These are faring the same as the pier.

West Beach: Whiting and school-ies are being landed after dark.

Westcliff Bastion: Whiting, schoolies and flounders are being brought to shore from this spot.

River Crouch: Codling, whiting and roker are making up the bags at Fambridge, while at Wallasea it is whiting and schoolies that are showing.

Boats: Skippers from all venues are still reporting plenty of roker, codling, whiting and poulting.

Bradwell Power Station: Head to the beach if you are targeting codling, roker or whiting.

Walton Pier: Codling, dabs and whiting are showing at the north-east Essex town.

Hipkins: Codling are being caught off the groyne at this venue on the Naze.

Holland on Sea: Codling around the 1.5lb mark have been landed here.

Jaywick: Head for the rocks for codling and bass.

St Leonards on Sea: Anglers heading to Sussex are likely to catch lots of codling weighing between 1lb and 2lb.
