LAKESIDE are in Elite League action at Swindon this evening where the Robins will be looking to avenge a 45-50 defeat at the Arena-Essex Raceway last Friday.

Despite the reverse, Swindon team manager Alun Rossiter remained upbeat.

"I wasn't disappointed by the result at Lakeside," he said. "In fact I was relatively pleased, especially with the manner of our fight-back after we had gone 14 points behind in heat six.

"If we show the same level of determination in the return match, then I see no reason why we can't keep our winning home run going.

"It could well be another close meeting because the Hammers have some very good riders, but as I have said several times this season already, happiness is 46-44."

The Hammers have started the season well as they make significant progress both on and off track although they have not fared too well on the Wiltshire track in recent times.

Team news ahead of tonights match-up sees Cory Gathercole get another run-out in the home side in place of the injured Theo Pijper.

Lakeside have called upon the services of Blunsdon expert Davey Watt to replace Andreas Jonsson, who is recuperating from hand and wrist injuries.

Watt is becoming a familiar face to the Hammers contingent. He rode against them for his parent club Poole on Wednesday, rides for Lakeside this evening and then dons the Poole race-jacket on Friday when the Pirates race at Purfleet.
