DESPITE the weather conditions the Lords Golf and Country Club (Rayleigh) managed to play two prestigious games in their annual golfing calendar The first was the seniors' medal which was won on the back nine by Colin Cordingley when he and John O'Connell both finished with a round of 68.
Next came the Handicap Cup competition which was played in some gruelling conditions with the division one (0-10) title going to Kevin Andrews (70) followed by Darren Lowe (71). Finishing third was Paul Anthony (72) For handicapers 11-17 division two went to Martin Wilcox (68). Second was Sid Williamson followed by Jon Vigors, who both finished on 73.
The division three (18-28) was won by John Gibson (74) ahead of John Healey (75) with Colin Moseley taking third place on back nine with a round of 76.
