CONCORD Rangers will not give up their fight to win the Essex Senior League title and gain promotion to the Ryman set-up.
Tuesday's 1-0 defeat at Enfield 1893 - having beaten the same opposition four times previously - makes Danny Scopes's Canvey-based Concord outsiders.
But all is not lost by any means.
Tomorrow, for example, the two teams above them meet with Barkingside hosting Enfield.
At the same time Concord themselves should have no problems collecting three points, and boosting their already healthy goal difference, when they go to bottom club London APSA.
Even if Concord should fall at the final hurdle in the championship chase, it's still been a fine year for Scopes's side.
They have won the Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy, are in the League Cup final against Eton Manor at Bowers and Pitsea's ground on May 5, and reached the FA Vase quarter-finals.
At the time of going to press, Enfield were hosting Tilbury based Eton Manor last night with Southend Manor at Beaumont Athletic.
Tomorrow Eton Manor host Hullbridge Sports while Southerd Manor entertain Sawbridgeworth.
Bowers and Pitsea, 2-1 home winners over Basildon United on Wednesday, visit a Burnham Ramblers side immediately above them and Basildon host Clapton with Aveley based Mauritius Sports at Stansted.
Other match tomorrow: Barking v Beaumont Athletic.
The title fight continues next Tuesday with Hullbridge visiting Concord at Thames Road and Enfield playing host to Eton Manor at Ware. Southend Manor will be hoping to add to London APSA's misery at Southchurch Park.
