AVELEY lost their grip on the Essex Thames-side Trophy with a 3-1 defeat against Brimsdown Rovers.
Though John Maskell pulled a goal back with a headed goal just before half time, Millers went into the break 3-1 down.
The South Midlands League side's keeper saved Wayne Vaughan's penalty early in the second half.
Brimsdown will now host Bowers in the semi-final.
