ROCHFORD Hundred cadet Arthur Leonard tasted double success in two big club competitions over the weekend.
First he won the Saturday April division one medal and the next day stormed to victory in the John Lockhart scratch trophy.
Leonard fired nine pars plus three birdies for 75-4=71 to take medal honours ahead of another youngster Craig Loxton.
Loxton enjoyed 13 pars in his 76-4=72.
Seven pars and two birdies helped Rob McKelvie to 84-13=71 and victory in division two from Ian Dudley, six pars and a birdie for 84-11=73.
Barry Shillum had five pars on his way to 89-19=70 which was too hot for David Frake (96-23=73) in division three.
Leonard, now down to three handicap, kept his great form going in the 36-hole Lockhart when a gross 70 in the morning was followed by 75 after lunch for 145 which was four shots better than fellow cadet Tom Owen.
Eight pars and six birdies in the am round was followed by ten pars and a trio of birdies in the afternoon to hand Leonard his triumph.
Owen's seven pars plus four birdies in the opening round saw him shot 76 and 11 pars and three birdies in the afternoon helped produce 73.
Morning scratch winner was Jordan Moss on 71 and Christian Foreman's 73 was good enough to win the pm prize.
The all-day handicap winner was Sam Welsh (net 142) on countback from Adam Moy.
