GREAT Wakering Rovers go into home action for the final time this season tomorrow with manager Iain O'Connell desperate to give fans a winning send-off.
The village side have only tasted victory four times in 20 starts at Burroughs Park this campaign.
And O'Connell admitted: "To be frank, that's nowhere near good enough."
He added: "To be honest it's only our away record that's saved us from being in relegation trouble.
"We've won on eight occasions on opposition territory, but if our away form had been as poor as own home record we'd be in trouble."
Arlesey Town, just a place and point clear of 14th-placed Wakering, are tomorrow's visitors and are the only team O'Connell's men can catch.
Amazingly, the next team above Arlesey, Aveley, are a massive 17 points ahead of them.
Admitted O'Connell: "To be honest it's like two leagues. We've been safe for some time, but have lost six times on the trot now.
"I'd love a win tomorrow to send the supporters off in happy frame of mind for the summer.
"We've a small but enthusiastic band of fans and a very hard-working commitee down here and it would be nice to sign-off with a win for them."
Great Wakering have already organised their first pre-season friendly for next term with Ryman Premier League outfit Billericay Town visiting Burroughs Park on Tuesday July 22.
>GREAT Wakering's supporters' player of the year trophy will be presented prior to tomorrow's kick-off.
