ATHLETES from across Essex will be heading to Sweyne Park School on Sunday for the annual Rayleigh adult and junior aquathlon.
It's a swim and run multi-sport event and is organised by the East Essex Triathlon Club.
Entries in both the junior and adult events filled up quickly as athletes are eager to battle it out for this early season race in the county triathlon calendar.
In the men's event competition will be fierce again this year and much is expected from some of East Essex 's younger club members, Joe Giggins, Harry Smith, Taz Porter and Matthew Brown.
East Essex Tri Club has some very strong lady competitors who will use the race as a platform to show their intent for the rest of their season.
Watch out for strong performances from Dawn Muggleton, Zena Shean and Chris Mowle.
The juniors have also shown great promise during winter's training and evidence of their hard work on those cold nights should be on shown on Sunday.
East Essex Tri Club are privileged to have a very talented crop of young athletes - rated among the best in eastern England region.
The races start at 11am for the adults and 1.30pm for the youngsters.
The swim takes place in the pool at Sweyne Park School and the run takes place around the grounds of the school and the adjacent bridal path.
