AVELEY did their best to help borough neighbours Tilbury in this entertaining clash at relegation-haunted Wivenhoe and, while they came close to winning the match, they might also have lost in a dramatic climax to the action.
Wivenhoe led at the break by the only goal of the first half through James Cole before two goals from Wayne Vaughan meant they looked set to take all the points before Scott Woodcock equalised in added time.
