THE Westcliff High School for Boys under-14 rugby team is looking forward to representing Essex in the London and South East State Schools Competition.
The team received this honour by recently winning the Essex Cup final achieving the following results on the way to winning the cup; In the group matches they beat Jo Richardson 70-0, Honywood 54-0, St Martins 33-0 and had a walkover against Woodbridge.
In the quarter-final they knocked out Sadlers Draper 34-0 and overcame KEGS 24-10 in the semi-final.
They beat Robert Clack on a golden try in the final after they final score had been 5-5.
The team has had an outstanding season and this is highlighted by eight players being selected to represent the county, Alex Johnson, David Collison, Alex Calvert, Charlie Creak and Tom Solis (A team), Michael Bewick, Jared Harding and Joshua Bunn (B Team).
