SOUTHEND darts professional Steve "Mr Magic" Maish endured a disappointing weekend at the Scottish Sun Scottish Players Championship at Glasgow's Thistle Hotel.
The 44-year-old plunged to a 3-2 first round defeat to Jamie Caven to pick up just £75 in prize money.
Elsewhere, Billericay-born Kevin Painter was a second round loser to Adrian Gray, while Romford's Wayne Mardle lost 3-2 in the first round to Louis Blundell.
The tournament was eventually won by PDC newcomer Mervyn King, who beat Mark Dudbridge 3-0 in the final to take home the £5,000 winner's cheque.
Earlier, King had beaten in-form 13-times world champion Phil Taylor 3-1 in the quarter-finals to end "The Power's" run of six straight PDC Pro Tour tournament wins.
The competition also featured a nine-dart finish from Derby's Colin Osborne.
