In second place on countback with 40 points were David Peters and Neill Johns from Roberto Bonora and Stewart Hayden with fourth, Tony Walker and Len Rice on 38 points.
The mixed St.George's greensome was won by Howard and Lorna Lawrie, with 40 points, on countback from Cliff Haylock and Betty Austin.
In third position, with 39 points, were John and Renata Jarvis and in fourth, with 38 points, were Peter Hancock and Alison Cotgrove.
Ronnie Neale, the recalled captain of the last successful Thorpe Hall Leslie Wood team, has selected an experienced side for the first match this year, away at Channels, on Sunday.
