RUNNYMEDE have been swimming in various competitions with some outstanding results following their great performances at the Essex age group championships.
Four swimmers travelled to Ponds Forge for the qualifying to take part in the City of Sheffield swim squad premier open meet.
This was a licensed level one competition and was attended by many of the country's top swimmers. Chloe Davis, 14, had an excellent weekend qualifying for the finals of the 200 IM and backstroke.
Kayleigh Sims, 11, reached the final of the 100 breaststroke. She had some great results and is now only 0.07 seconds outside her national qualifying time for this event and 1.7 seconds outside the 200.
Ellie Pirrie, 10, Castle Point Sports Council's junior personality of the year, had a busy time qualifying and competing in 10 events.
She had some outstanding swims and is also getting closer to her national qualifying times.
Charlotte Davis, 16, had some excellent swims in the 200 and 100 freestyle and fly events, qualifying for ERASA Youth Championships in May.
Runnymede sent a large squad to the Southend meet at Warrior Square. Their star of the day was 11-year-old Murphy Talbot, who is currently one of the club's most improved swimmers this year.
Talbot has been training extremely hard and this paid off when he took the gold medal in all four events for his age group and produced an event best time in the 100 freestyle.
