GREAT Wakering Rovers bow out with a visit to Northwood and will look to extend their late-season rally.

They ended a run of six straight defeats by beating Arlesey 6-2 at home last weekend.

And they pulled off a 2-2 draw at Maldon on Tuesday.

Said manager Iain O'Connell: "We should have had three points again in midweek as we murdered Maldon for long spells "I think in some ways we were safe too early as that took any kind of pressure off us.

"We've never really been in any danger of being dragged into the relegation dogfight, but personally I'm happy that we secured our Division One status early on.

"There will be changes in the summer with some players going by choice and others no longer required. And there will be newcomers arriving.

"But I hope to keep the nucleus of the squad together and i will definitely be appointing a new number two during the summer."

O'Connell is pleased with the loyalty shown by some of his players who have been coveted by other clubs with Martin Tuohy, who has hit 22 goals this term, and Neil Richmond among those who've turned down approaches from elsewhere this term.
