SOUTHEND United's 13 match unbeaten run came to an end at Prenton Park this afternoon with a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Tranmere, but the main talking point was a bust up between Blues midfielders Alan McCormack and Nicky Bailey.
The duo had to be pulled apart by defenders Adam Barrett and Peter Clarke after they clashed following the only goal of the game from Antony Kay.
The Rovers midfielder powerfully headed home from eight yards to end any chance the Shrimpers had of securing automatic promotion into the Championship.
