SOUTHEND United's reserves cruised to a 4-0 win at Stevenage Borough this afternoon, with winger Damian Scannell scoring a hat-trick.

The former Eastleigh man hit home a trio of strikes and was joined on the score-sheet by Franck Moussa who neatly tucked away a penalty.

Blues included teenage Fulham winger Max Noble in their starting line-up and were forced into an early change when Zoltan Liptak, who was on loan at Stevenage earlier on this season, left the field with a nasty head wound which required four stitches.

The Shrimpers reserves are back in action on Wednesday night as they make the short trip to Grays Athletic, kick off 7pm.
