SATURDAY golfers enjoyed near perfect conditions for Ballards Gore's medal.
Division One saw Keith Sanders (12) repeat his previous month's success with a net 71, which was to include a triple bogey on the second and a double bogey on the third.
But, helped by a birdie on the ninth, another in-form player, Peter Walsh (14), having already won the three-club trophy and the silver award, came in with a net 72 for second place.
Double bogeys on the 16th and 18th were to cost him dear.
Countback decided third place on net 74 where Bill Ambridge got the better of fellow nine-handicapper Tony Day and Trevor Day (12) by virtue of a better back nine.
The best scores of the day were in Division Two where Paul Beattie (25) took first place with net 67. Triple bogeys on holes three, five and 12 didn't help.
Pat Rickard (25) and Gary Nichols (15) both finished with net 70 with second place going to Rickard by virtue of a better back nine.
The recent Sunday medal cancelled due to snow will likely be re-arranged for later in the season.
