CONCORD Rangers aim to be the third successive club to earn an Essex Senior League hat-trick this Bank Holiday weekend.

Having already secured the championship and Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy, the Canvey-based club are at Bowers & Pitsea's Crown Avenue ground in the League Cup final on Monday (3pm).

But they will not find completing the triple triumph easy. For their opponents in the final are an Eton Manor side who have enjoyed one of their best ever seasons by finishing fourth in the table.

Eton Manor, based at Tilbury this past campaign, were beaten by Concord in the Brasted final.

Monday's final will be a unique occasion for Cowley brothers Danny and Nicky, both of whom teach at Rayleigh's FitzWimarc School.

They completed the Senior League treble with AFC Hornchurch two years ago and Brentwood the following season.

Now they are aiming to make it a three-times triple triumph with Concord, where Danny is coach and Nicky a player.

It is also a big day for Concord striker Danny Heale. Having retained the Don Douglas Trophy as the league's top marksman, he needs just one goal on Monday to beat Bowers & Pitsea's David Hope's all-time record for a Essex Senior League campaign, 45, set in season 1998/99.
