GREAT Wakering Rovers' goalkeeper Louis Green is one of three generations of his family making a name for himself in the world of soccer.

Green's uncle Mark Godwin has this year been appointed state director of coaching for the Louisiana State Soccer Association that has a total membership of 30,000 players.

And Green's grandfather Derek Godwin is head soccer coach at Louisiana College, Pineville, Louisiana.

Mark, an Old Southendian from 1982, has been in the USA since 1993.

He has also been placed on the USA national coaching staff to start instructing national coaching courses this year in different states.

His state reponsibilities include all coaching courses within the State of Louisiana for all levels from under-six to under-18 age groups.

He is also responsible for coaching and organising the Olympic development programme as well as appointing the coaching staff for all age groups of boys and girls born between 1991 and 96 as part of the USA region three (south-east of the USA).

He will also assist all the various clubs within Louisiana with any assistance they need with organisation, player development or coaching.

He also represents the State at all USA annual conferences.

Louis Green himself, who has enjoyed a great season with Wakering, has himself coached in America.
