PORT Vale may have already been relegated but their boss Lee Sinnott is demanding a professional performance at Roots Hall tomorrow.

"We want to finish things off in the right way," he said.

"I don't know whether or not Southend will decide to rest a few but it doesn't matter to us.

"It is up to us to impose our game-plan because that's what we'll have to do next season. You've got to believe that every game is important and I do."

Despite that though, Sinnott knows his side will be in for a stern test against the Shrimpers.

"They are going to make life difficult for us and they've got good home form," he said.

"They've put a good run together at the right time and have come on strong.

"You can see other teams coming strong at different times of the season but they've timed it correctly and if we let them dictate to us we will have a problem."

Vale will be missing midfielders Dave Howland (foot) and Danny Whitaker (knee), while defender George Pilkington will play his 253rd and final match for the club.
