YEOVIL Town boss Chris Hargreaves was left fuming after seeing Josh Staunton have a header disallowed against Southend United.

Hargreaves fully agreed with the decision to send off Glovers striker Gime Toure.

But the Yeovil boss felt referee Sam Mullhall was wrong to rule out Staunton’s first half header for a foul on Blues goalkeeper Collin Andeng Ndi.

“We had a couple of half chances and scored a valid goal in my opinion,” said Hargreaves.

“The officials probably got one right if he did kick out, it’s a definite red, but the disallowed goal is guess work and it’s totally unacceptable.

“It’s a perfectly valid goal and he’s disallowed it because it’s a home game and the keeper’s gone down.

“It’s a shocking decision.”

The disallowed effort came when the goal was still goalless and Toure had been dismissed for kicking out at Kacper Lopata.

And Hargreaves said the striker had let his team-mates down.

“I can’t excuse it and it’s unacceptable from a player that’s looked bright and like he can give us something,” said Hargreaves.

“It’s going to cost him three games and a fair bit of money.

“It’s unacceptable and he’s let all his team-mates down today.

“It’s a real moment of madness.”
