MIKE Hales will fulfil a life-long dream when he fights at the 02 Arena later this month.

Hales – who is from Canvey Island - will take on Kevin Johnson in a bout which is on the undercard for the legendary Floyd Mayweather’s tussle with Aaron Chalmers.

And Hales cannot wait to get back in the ring.

“I’m extremely excited to have the opportunity to fight on the Mayweather card,” said Hales.”

“It’s one of the biggest stages in the UK to showcase my skills against a world class boxer.

“Fighting three fights before Mayweather is really exciting.

“Even to share the same stage as him is a dream come true but it is something I always knew would happen and it’s only the start of the journey.

“I am ready to come back with a huge bang.”

Hales has previously fought in MMA and headed over to Ireland in 2018 to train in the same gym as Irish superstar Conor McGregor.

But Hales was forced to move back home due to Covid 19 before his career started to go into another direction.

“I moved back due to Covid and then I met Kane Mousah, who is now one of my close friends, in Thailand whilst out there training,” said Hales.

“He introduced me to a Manchester top team, where I have ended up moving and living now full-time after being signed by Vida Management.

“But I actually haven’t fought in a while due to running multiple businesses one being a successful tech stock, Dehub.”

However, Hales got back into things at the start of 2023 and is working hard ahead of his next fight.

“I started training hard again in January for an MMA fight for March, but when I got this opportunity at the 02 I joined a boxing gym the next day,” said Hales.”

“I’ll have three weeks of preparation before this fight, but I have been training my whole life at SS8 Fight School on Canvey. I am never shy of a test and I always push myself to the limits so on February 25 you will see what I can do.”
