SOUTHEND United fans have their say on Saturday's 1-0 win against Gateshead.
Going down to 10 made Gateshead stop playing it about at the back which was probably a bad thing for us. Solid, another display full of heart from a Southend side we can be proud of.
@AllAtSeaFanzine
Thought it would be a cricket score at first, ended up being far tougher against a not very good team of 10 than it should have been. Glad we didn’t slip, had a 1-1 feeling to it, and deserved the win.

Great performance from the boys and another good win. Sandat looks like a good prospect and the fans were class today although it did fell like it was for the last time at Roots Hall.

Strange day. Great to win again, spirit and dedication of the team is awe inspiring. And lovely for Sandat to get the goal. But very unsettling to leave the ground with the fear that may never get to go back there.
@Moorhouse79
Great first half, forgot they had one man less in the second and rode our luck a few times. This team play together though and makes a huge difference over the past 3+ seasons. Team spirit will keep us going, I just hope someone pays them to do so soon!
@sjapresley
Good win and great atmosphere. The reception the squad got at full time felt different today, really hope this isn’t the end.
@NickLapwood
Excellent first half, professional second half. Great to keep the winning run going, especially with the well publicised issues off the field. Players and management deserve so much credit. More than a tinge of sadness at the end of the game - let’s hope we’re back on the third.
@Jones616Kevin
Almost seemed like the last game of the season with the ex players before and the junior teams at half time and the team taking a long time to leave the pitch. Atmosphere brilliant and deserved the three points
@trevor_tricky
Good professional performance and we’ll take the three points. But felt we could have killed them off in the second half which could cost us in other matches.
@HimpfenJack13
Sad and angry but so proud of my team what an effort this season, if we can survive off the pitch we can thrive on it. A dream debut for Sandat he looks so composed and mature for a 17 year old. Thanks Kev, Darren, Mark and the players my journey back to London was a happy one

What an emotional day. Lads showed grit and real determination. Great to get the early goal today. Thought Noor was excellent. Roots Hall was rocking, the atmosphere throughout was excellent.
@dan_mays86
Management and players are incredible. Imagine what they could achieve without a lead weight around their necks in the form of Ron Martin. The sooner this club is free of him the sooner we can get back where we belong.
