SOUTHEND United fans have their say on Ron Martin's decision to sell the club.
I’ve supported this club for far too many years to get excited about anything. We need to see what happens first with the sale of the club, then see if the new owners are any good. Only time will tell now.
@KnowlesKris
Pure elation. Cautious optimism for the future. But it feels like when you get a dentist appointment booked. You know the pain will be gone soon.
@Brad_Gray_
A day I didn’t think would happen until the stadium was actually built, the beginning of the end for Ron and a genuine beacon of light for our fans who have been through so much recently. A win also for the supporters’ and protest groups who have built momentum & united the fans
@JamieGreen95
The news we've been waiting for Anything to do with RM though, makes you apprehensive by default, but hopefully its the start of getting the club back to where it should be Will be very interesting to see exactly who comes forward and declares an interest.
@steveg671
The best news concerning Southend's future. Well done to everyone who has pressed for this over the years and now we have progress.

Long overdue, just hope a deal can be done and Ron doesn't hold out for silly money, realistically the club isn't worth more than £1 as it has no assets whilst having huge liabilities.
@Greggie_Griff
Can't quite remember the last time I physically couldn't keep a grin off my face. This is the most incredible shock and I'm absolutely delighted. I love this club so much and I just hope this can be the start of a bright new era for this wonderful club.

Christmas has come early! This is amazing news but the protests still need to continue untill Ron is fully out the door. We don't want to give him any reason to reconsider selling
@KetchleyShane
At the moment it’s just rhetoric. Let’s see how easy Ron is to negotiate with if a buyer comes forward. I am not convinced this is just not a cynical ploy from Ron to make it too hard for a buyer to do a deal. Then say look I am the only one after all.
@stevecaton66
I remain sceptical as can’t trust anything Ron says. It’s certainly convenient timing with fans not buying season tickets for next season. Fingers crossed it’s different this time but there’s still no communication about how we’re going survive until the summer.
@DanDobisz
If Ron delivers the new stadium and ambitious new owners then all is forgiven.
@seasider_paul
It's a start, and at least it's come without having to wait for the new stadium to be built. I think we'll be attractive to buyers from a footballing pov, as with the right investment, we could easily go up a few leagues. Doubt financially wise we look that attractive though.
@Pete_Chatterton
About time Ron has done the right thing for the football club,totally unacceptable what has happened to the staff this season and seasons gone by,and now hopefully we can find the right person or persons to take the club forward and get us back to where we belong
@Tonyboney69
Honestly thought I had more chance of winning the lottery than I did seeing Ron put the club up for sale. And I don't even buy a lottery ticket.
