The Shrimpers paid off a winding up petition of close to £2million back in March.

But the National League club now have another outstanding tax bill to pay and will be back in the high court on May 17.

Blues’ failure to pay HMRC on time has seen them under a transfer embargo since September.

The club’s full-time office staff at Roots Hall are also still waiting to be paid for March and April.

Underfire chairman Ron Martin continues to insist the club is up for sale.
