FORMER Southend United striker Simon Cox believes more needs to be done to stop Ron Martin harming the Shrimpers.
The controversial Blues chairman has been given another 42 days to pay off a tax bill of £275,000.
But Cox feels there should be sterner punishment.
He said: “Why does it keep getting adjourned?
“Surely the fact the club has been in court over and over again over the past five to six years says that there needs to be a change.
“The courts need to make the right decision and stop people’s lives being ruined by an individual unfit to run a club.
“They shouldn’t keep allowing further delays and they should tell him to pay up or sell immediately.
"You can’t be in court over and over again with the same kind of issues and keep getting away with it again in my opinion.”
Cox netted 45 goals in 172 appearances for the Shrimpers before leaving in 2020.
