SOUTHEND United wing-back Jack Bridge was taken off with an ankle injury during Saturday’s 4-1 win at Bishop’s Stortford.
Bridge, who was top scorer for the Shrimpers with 13 goals last season, had to be substituted just before the break at the RDA Stadium.
And Blues boss Kevin Maher is hoping it does not prove to be a serious injury setback.
“He's got a boot on his ankle after he rolled it when going up for a header,” said Maher.
“Fingers crossed on that one and we’ll have to see how it settles down.”
