ANNA Firth has spoken with Southend United chairman Ron Martin over a lack of water at the club’s training ground.
The Shrimpers squad have been unable to shower or use the toilet at Boots & Laces since mid July.
And Ms Firth, the Southend West MP, is now doing what she can to assist the Shrimpers.
Writing on Facebook, she said: “After meeting Kevin Maher on Sunday and learning about the lack of any running water at the training ground, I have taken this up with Ron Martin direct and insisted that, at the very least, the players must have a working loo!
“I know this might seem like is a small point, but little things matter, especially around the well-being of the players.
“Next target is ensuring HMRC are paid and getting embargo lifted.
After that, assisting sale of club will be top-priority.”
