JESSICA Warner-Judd claimed an impressive eighth placed finish in the 10,000m final at the World Championship tonight.
Warner-Judd, who is from Canvey Island, crossed the line in 31 minutes, 35.38 seconds.
And her performance in Budapest earned praise from Paula Radcliffe who won silver over the same distance at the 1999 Championship.
“She should be very encouraged,” Radcliffe told the BBC.
“She’s come into these Championships by her own admission not being in the shape she’s shown in previous years.
“But to walk away from here with a top eight finish is really strong running, particularly with how the race was run because she really had to lift that pace.”
