SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher is keen to sign former Ipswich Town defender Brooklyn Kabongolo.
The 20-year-old centre-back, who started the season, with Billericay Town has been training with Blues and also joined in with the warm up ahead of Tuesday night’s match at Aldershot Town.
However, Blues are currently unable to complete the transfer due to their transfer embargo.
Shrimpers head coach Maher said: “He’s someone we’ve had our eye on and we think there’s a lot of potential there.
“He’s someone we’d love to get in and work with and mould into how we want him.
“But there’s hoops to jump through before that can be done.
