SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher feels a break in his side's season has come at just the right time.
Blues are without a game this weekend having been knocked out of the FA Cup by Yeovil Town.
But Maher is looking at the positive side of the situation and is certain his small squad will benefit from having time off.
"It’s come up the right time possibly," said Maher.
"Obviously we wanted to be in the next round of the FA Cup but the flip side of it is we’ve given the players a bit of a break and a little reset.
"They can go home and recover and rest.
"Some might go away for a couple of days but they were in at the start of the week and worked very, very hard.
"They’ve earned their rest."
