SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher is reportedly a target for Bristol Rovers.
But Blues have yet to receive an official approach from the Pirates to speak to their head coach.
Rovers are on the look-out for a new manager after parting company with Joey Barton in late October.
And the League One side are believed to have identified Maher as a possible replacement.
Maher had been first team coach at Bristol Rovers before taking charge of the Shrimpers in October 2021 and his contract at Roots Hall expires at the end of this season.
Gillingham were denied permission to talk with Maher before appointing Stephen Clemence as head coach following the shock dismissal of Neil Harris.
