SOUTHEND United midfielder Noor Husin has joined his international team-mates in threatening to boycott playing for Afghanistan.
It is understood Husin and the majority of the squad are frustrated with how their nation’s governing body have opted to use funds given to them by FIFA.
And they feel the team will not be able to fulfill their potential until changes are implemented at the top of the Afghanistan game.
Writing on Instagram, Husin said: “We are ready to join the team and fight for the national team like always if the president of AFF, Mr Kargar, resigns.”
Afghanistan face Qatar in a World Cup qualifier next Thursday before also taking on Kuwait the following Tuesday.
But an international boycott from Husin would be good news for Blues as it would make him available for next weekend’s clash with table-topping Chesterfield at Roots Hall.
