SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher is keeping his focus firmly on the Shrimpers - despite interest from elsewhere.
Gillingham were denied permission to speak to Maher when looking for a new boss while Bristol Rovers have also been linked with a move for the 47-year-old.
But Maher - who takes Blues to in-form Altrincham on Saturday- remains keen to keep moving forward at Roots Hall.
“I think first and foremost it shows how well the players have performed when the manager gets attention and stuff like that.,” said Maher.
“I’m pleased with the staff and the work we’ve done too.
“We’re on the verge of a takeover and hopefully that leads to a really positive future.
“There’s a lot of work still to be done here that we’re all looking forward to doing.
“Hopefully once that (the takeover) comes we can really kick on.”
Maher has helped the Shrimpers move up to 15th in the National League standings despite being docked 10 points for financial irregularities.
Blues have also gone seven league games without defeat.
