SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher is still waiting for the green-light to add to his squad.

Blues are expected to make a move for a National League South midfielder among others once their transfer embargo is removed.

But Maher has stressed it is not an easy process.

“It’s not easy because of the time of year and no-one wants to lose their players at this time,” said Maher.

“We still need news of it being lifted and there’s a process of bringing people in we’ll follow.

“But we’re always working and doing stuff behind the scenes.”

The consortium taking charge of the Shrimpers are expected to ensure the embargo is lifted in the coming days.
