JACOB Bland is confident Concord Rangers can work their way out of trouble this season.
The Beach Boys have worked their way off the foot of the Isthmian Premier Division standings after going three games undefeated.
And Bland, who is on loan from Southend United, has been encouraged by the recent results.
“I’m definitely confident we will stay up,” said Bland.
“The results lately have been very encouraging. We’re picking up points now and slowly making our way out of danger.”
Concord beat relegation rivals Kingstonian 2-1 last Tuesday before drawing 0-0 with the same opponents on Saturday.
And Bland was pleased to pick up another point.
“Saturday was a good game,” said the midfielder.
“We probably weren’t at our best but we defended well and didn’t the lose the game which is all that matters.”
Concord now sit third from bottom in the standings, six points behind Cheshunt who sit just above the drop zone.
But the Beach Boys have three games in hand and face a crunch clash at home to second from bottom Haringey Borough this evening.
“I’m expecting another tough game and we need to be ready for a battle,” said Bland.
“It’s a very big game in our season.”
Bland continues to relish his role in the centre of the park.
And he is enjoying playing regular first-team football.
“First-team football is helping me so much as physically it is making me stronger,” said Bland.
“It’s giving me more understanding of the game as well.”
However, Bland is not looking too far ahead.
“My plan is to keep playing men’s games now and getting more experience then see what happens at the end of the season,” he added.
Elsewhere tonight, Hashtag United face a tough looking test at second-placed Chatham Town.
The Tags have slipped to 12th in the table after seven games without a win.
There is also a big game for third-placed Billericay Town as they head to Enfield Town who are immediately below them in the table.
Billericay lost 1-0 at Bognor Regis Town on Saturday.
